Claude offers the most seamless integration with Sofy's MCP Server across multiple environments. Teams using Claude for content generation can access brand voice guidelines, template instructions, and glossary terms without leaving their workflow. The integration works identically in Claude's web interface, desktop application, and command-line Code tool, ensuring consistent brand application regardless of where content is created. This connection eliminates manual copying of brand guidelines and reduces the risk of off-brand content creation.

Connect the Sofy MCP Server with Claude's web interface, desktop application, and Claude Code to access brand voice and templates during content generation.

Requirements

Access to Claude Pro or Claude Team is required to use custom MCP servers. The free Claude tier does not support MCP integrations.

Claude Web and Desktop

Claude's web interface and desktop application share the same MCP configuration. Settings configured in one location apply to both environments.

Setup instructions

1

Open Claude Settings

In the Claude desktop app, click on "Claude" in the menu bar and select "Settings". In the web interface, click the settings icon in the sidebar.

2

Access Connectors

Click on Connectors in the left sidebar and then select the "Add custom connector" button.

3

Add custom connector

  • Name: Sofy

  • URL: https://mcp.sofy.io

  • Click Add to confirm

4

Authorize Sofy

A browser window will open requesting authorization. Sign in to your Sofy workspace and grant Claude access to the MCP server.

5

Enable for new conversations

Toggle the setting to enable the integration for new conversations. This determines whether the MCP server connects automatically when starting new chats.

Verification

Start a new conversation in Claude. The Sofy integration should appear in the available tools list.

Ask Claude to retrieve brand voice settings or list available templates. If the integration works correctly, Claude will access Sofy data through the MCP server.

Troubleshooting

If the integration does not appear, verify that the URL is entered correctly with no extra spaces. Confirm that new conversation integration is enabled in the settings.

If authentication fails, check that the Sofy workspace is accessible and that workspace permissions allow MCP access.

Claude Code

Claude Code is a command-line tool for agentic coding tasks. MCP server configuration uses a JSON file stored in the user configuration directory.

Setup instructions

1

Locate configuration directory

Find the Claude Code configuration directory on your system:

  • macOS and Linux: ~/.config/claude-code/

  • Windows: %APPDATA%\claude-code\

2

Create or edit configuration file

Open or create the mcp_servers.json file in the configuration directory using a text editor.

3

Add Brivvy MCP Server

Add the following configuration to the file:

If other MCP servers are already configured, add the Sofy entry as an additional object within the mcpServers section. Ensure proper JSON syntax with commas between entries.

4

Save and restart

Save the configuration file and restart Claude Code if it is currently running.

Verification

Launch Claude Code and start a new session. The Sofy MCP server should connect automatically.

Request brand voice information or template details through natural language commands. Claude Code will access Sofy tools when generating content.

Troubleshooting

If the MCP server does not connect, verify the JSON syntax is correct. Missing commas or brackets will prevent the configuration from loading.

Check that the configuration file is saved in the correct directory. The path varies by operating system.

If authentication fails, ensure the Sofy workspace is accessible and that MCP access is enabled for the workspace.

Using Brivvy with Claude

Once connected, Claude can access Sofy brand assets automatically during content generation. The AI determines when to use brand voice or template tools based on the task.

To explicitly request Sofy data, use phrases like "use Sofy's brand voice" or "follow the template from Sofy" in the prompt. This signals Claude to retrieve relevant tools from the MCP server.

Brand voice applies automatically when generating written content if explicitly requested. Templates must be referenced by name or type to load specific instructions.

Platform-specific notes

Claude Web and Desktop maintain separate conversation histories but share MCP configurations. Changes to integration settings apply to both environments immediately.

Claude Code operates independently from the web and desktop applications. MCP server configurations do not sync between Claude Code and other Claude environments.

FAQs

chevron-rightWhat Claude subscription is required to use Sofy?hashtag

Claude Pro or Claude Team subscription is required to add custom MCP servers. The free Claude tier does not support custom connectors. Users must upgrade to Pro or Team to connect the Sofy MCP Server.

chevron-rightDoes the Sofy integration work across Claude Web, Desktop and Code?hashtag

The Sofy MCP Server works across all Claude environments. Claude Web and Desktop share the same connector configuration. Claude Code requires separate configuration through a JSON file. Once configured, Sofy brand voice and templates are available in all three environments.
